We were away for Easter following my hubbies hobby, Hot Rods and thats where he spent much of Easter while I just chillaxed in the sun on the Gold Coast.
The Gold coast is about 1hr from Brisbane and very busy at this time of year. Lots of fitness boot camps, little doggies walking with there owners , loveley cafes, yummy food and beautiful beaches, just what one needs to recharge the batteries, you may say, how come you go to another beach when you live buy the beach? well all I can say is, It's nice to have a change.
We stayed just a street away from the water having breakfast each morning to the sound of waves is so soothing.
Below was the view from the balcony.
Lots of long streches of beautiful sandy beaches
Out on the hunt the other day, I came across this old desk just begging for a remake, its an Ideal size for my new sewing table. . I already had the chair, the two go so well together don't you think ? so off to work I went first the big wash down.
Then it was time for my gun and scraper, whow! the paint came away leaving a beautiful wooden surface
Washed ready for the next stage of the process will be back later with updates. The old gate in the back ground went to a friends vegie garden to keep the puppies out.
Another project on the go is getting the garden ready for winter planting, My wonderful son upcycled old palets to make this garden bench and slat wall. All it needs now is the padding and some planting, we usually plant snow peas, capsicum , tomatoes and lettuice together with a nice large potfull of herbs ready for the kitchen and the winter soups.YUM!
This was another wonderfull find an old cane rocking chair it's so nice sitting and having morning tea in the sun and gently rocking. Can see our cute dog he's just become the proud daddy of six little pups, pictures later
This is another nice quiet corner of the garden thats starting to take shape, were just adding plants a little at a time.
We need to be careful what we plant as living in the sub tropics drought is common so native plants are a must.
We'll soon be comming into winter so there's not much colour.
I call this the winter garden as the sun hit this space first thing in the morming in winter. It's a beautiful warm place to sit and have that morming cupper and work on a little hooky.
I usually plant pots with colour so its bright and cheery
Latest hooky throw rug.
Well I hope you all have a wonderfull week with lots of nice suprises, Thanks for stopping by I hope you call again if not thanks for looking :)
